2024 HDRFS Annual Meeting

March 18-19, 2024

The Annual Harnessing the Data Revolution for Fire Science (HDRFS) Annual Meeting will be held at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, March 18-19, 2024 in the Student Union Building, Ballrooms B & C.

The Annual Meeting will include oral presentations featuring research results of Nevada’s National Science Foundation-funded HDRFS project as well as presentations on Communicating Science and Team Science.  Additionally, the meeting will host a  student poster session, along with lab visits and a guest presentation on the Health Effects of Wildland Fires from the University of Rostock, Germany and the Technical University of Munich.

The objective of this meeting is to share HDRFS research findings and outcomes, stimulate collaborations and discussions and plan for upcoming activities.

Hotel Amenities:

Free breaksfast, free internet access, on-site restaurant, fitness center and pool. Check-in time 3:00 pm and check-out time 12:00 pm.

A round-trip shuttle will be provided from Hyatt Place to UNLV on Monday, March 18th.  On Tuesday, March 19th, the shuttle will be provided from Hyatt Place to UNLV in the a.m. and will drop off at Harry Reid Airport, and Hyatt Place at the end of the session on Tuesday.

All graduate students participating in research funded by the National Science Foundation and the Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (NSF EPSCoR) Harnessing the Data Revolution for Fire Science project will provide a research introduction (1 minute) and a research poster presentation at this year’s annual meeting.  The introductions and posters session will allow students to share their research with other project members and the External Advisory Committee.
