2025 HDRFS Annual Meeting

April 6-8, 2025

The Annual Harnessing the Data Revolution for Fire Science (HDRFS) Meeting will be held at the University of Nevada, Reno, April 6-8, 2025 in the Joe Crowley Student Union, Ballrooms B&C.

The objective of this meeting is to share HDRFS research findings and outcomes, stimulate collaborations and discussions and plan for upcoming activities. The Annual Meeting will include oral presentations featuring research results of Nevada’s National Science Foundation-funded HDRFS project as well as a presentation by keynote speaker, Mojtaba Sadegh, PhD, from Boise State University.  Additionally, the meeting will host a  student poster session, along with a Red Rocks site visit and field demonstrations.

The site visit is scheduled for Monday, April 7 from 1 – 4 pm. Please wear appropriate clothing/footwear for the site visit due to uneven terrain.

Free internet access, on-site restaurants, fitness center, spa, and pool. Complimentary airport shuttle. Check-in time 3:00 pm and check-out time 12:00 pm.

A round-trip shuttle will be provided from the Silver Legacy to UNR on Monday, April 7th. On Tuesday, April 8th, the shuttle will be provided from the Silver Legacy to UNR in the a.m. and will drop off at Reno-Tahoe Airport at the end of the session on Tuesday.

All graduate students participating in research funded by the National Science Foundation and the Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (NSF EPSCoR) Harnessing the Data Revolution for Fire Science project will provide a research introduction (1 minute) and a research poster presentation at this year’s annual meeting.  The introductions and posters session will allow students to share their research with other project members and the External Advisory Committee.
